General FAQ

Which API should I use?

The decision on which API suite to request access to is based on your business model and account with us. If you are an MSP, you should use the Billing API. If you are a Distributor or VAR, the Partner API is the correct choice.

What is the Billing API?

The Billing API is a set of endpoints available via the N-able Developer Portal that provides N-Able customers with accurate, invoice-based usage data for N-central, Cove and EDR (More products to come). It can be used to automate reconciliation and invoicing processes, eliminating manual reviews of the product dashboards or "efile" reports.

What is the Partner Billing API?

The Partner API is a set of endpoints for Distributors and Resellers of our products. They provide accurate, invoice-based usage data for all products. It can be used to automate reconciliation and invoicing processes, eliminating manual reviews of the product dashboards or "efile" reports.

What is the Partner Provisioning API?

The Provisioning API is a set of endpoints available to Distributors only. They allow automation of provisioning flows such as account, trial and contract creation.

Do I need to pay extra for any of these APIs?

No, all three API suites are free. Simply request an API key.

How do I get started with the API?

To begin, open a Partner Care case to request your Salesforce ID and API key. Then, visit the Developer Portal to explore the interactive documentation and code samples: Billing API Documentation.

Which systems can I integrate with?

All APIs consume and return JSON formatted data, which can be used to integrate into any system including PSA, ITSM and ERP systems.

What if I need help or have questions about my data?

Partner Care handles all support for the APIs. Reach out if you encounter any issues or need clarification.
